A Christmas Recipe.

Hello Everyone,

Sorry it has been a while since my last post. I got really disappointed when I had to stop working on the truck I got from my dad and get rid of it. It literately broke my heart. I have wanted that truck since my dad got it when I graduated high school back in 2001.

I have graduated with my Accounting Diploma back in May. I am now studying Early Childhood Care and Education. I will graduate from that in May of 2017. I have started crafting and doing many things due to this Early Childhood Care and Education classes. I was inspired to make some of my own Christmas decorations this year. I will try soon to post a blog of what I have done.

This blog post I want to share a recipe that is floating around Face book. Tonight my family and I tried it. It was a hit. Not sure where the recipe or who posted it, but I had to try it and now I want to share it. It would be a great snack when watching a movie with your family or a snack while waiting on Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner to cook. Oh wait, found the site it came from. The snack is called Christmas Reindeer Crack from my incredible recipes

Here is the picture of what I made:

Here is the recipe:

Christmas Reindeer Snack!
Ingredients
  • 3 cups salted pretzels
  • 2 cups bugles
  • 2 cups Fritos
  • 1 cup Chex mix
  • 1 cup roasted peanuts
  • 1 1/2 cups M&Ms
  • 1 pack of white chocolate bark or melting chocolate (I used Baker's Premium White Chocolate and two boxes.)
Instructions
  1. In a Large bowl pour your Pretzels, Frito's, Bugles, Chex Mix, Peanuts & M&M's..
  2. Place the melting chocolate or bark in a bowl & microwave for 90 seconds. Stir and, if needed, heat an additional 15 seconds until it’s smooth and creamy. watch it closely, keep stopping to stir , it burns easily if you use this way! I recommend using a double boiler, easier and you always get perfect melted chocolate.
  3. Drizzle melted chocolate over the mixture in the bowl and mix around to coat it all.
  4. Once fully coated, take a large cookie sheet and pour coated mixture onto the sheet and spread it out and allow to cool completely.
  5. Once cooled, break into pieces.
  6. Store in an air tight container- does NOT need to be refrigerated.
  7. ENJOY!
I hope you all enjoy it, I know my family has tonight. Thank you for stopping by and reading. I will try to post more than what I do. I really have a lot of projects planned for this Christmas season, as I do them I will post pictures. Have a very good night and a Happy Thanksgiving.

Update on the 1966 Chevy.

Hello Everyone,

I am sad for this to be close to the last post on the 1966 Chevy, I have been restoring. I have had to come to a really tough decision on the truck I got from my dad. I was informed last week that I was losing a grant to finish up my Accounting Degree. Without this grant I wouldn't be able to get my degree. I really want to finish this up and have a better life for my family.  After long thought and no sleep, I decided to sell my 1966 Chevy me and my husband has been in the process of restoring. I am selling it for the money so I can finish my education. I also had called and had a long talk with my dad about what can be done without selling the truck and to get his advice.

The words my dad said to me was "You will have to make a choice. Keep the truck and not finish your education. Or sell the truck and have enough to finish your education. You will have to decide what is best for you and what you really want for your life. There will be no hard feelings from me if you sell the truck. I know you had it in your heart to restore the truck and and pass it down to your kids. But sometimes you have to make tough choices to get though life."

Come tomorrow afternoon the truck will have a new owner. Yes, this saddens me a lot. My dad got this truck when I graduated high school 16 years ago and I have always wanted this truck. I really had it in my heart to restore this truck and keep it in the family. But the good part of this, is my nephew's dad is buying this truck from me. His intentions is to finish restoring the truck and pass it down to my nephew when he is old enough to have it.

I do have some pictures of what we have done, that I will share next week. I hope you enjoyed keeping up with the restoring process. I think each one of you for reading and seeing step by step what we have done. Maybe later down the road I will have a chance to restore another truck just like this one. I will be really sad to see this one go, but it is for the greater good.

Everyone have a great week!! Thank you for reading!!

Another Day Working on the 1966 Chevy!!!

Hello Everyone,

Hope everyone has been enjoying the beautiful weather we are having! I know I was outside enjoying it today. Can you guess what I was doing?? That's right, working on that 1966 Chevy pickup I got from my dad. Last weekend, I couldn't work on it because I was sick all last weekend. But I feeling a lot better now! I have spring break all week next week, so my plans are to get my daughter caught up on her school and work on my truck.

Hope you are ready for some more pictures of the 1966 beauty. Today we pretty much did was sand most of the truck the best we could. I do have some of the spots my hubby bonded.

My 12 year old son sanded this side of the truck.

Now, the tail gate. We wasn't sure how the sanding would
go on the tail gate. Due to the fact the paint was chipping and peeling off.
But between me and my husband we managed to get it sanded and smooth.

Here is some of the spots that will have, to have bondo on it.

We can't wait to start the painting. But we have at least another week of bonding and sanding to do. I have to have surgery done the first of April. I hoping to have at least the primer on before then.

I so have enjoyed working on this truck. I hope I can continue to give weekly updates on this beauty. When we done with the outside we will have to start on the inside.
Thank you for stopping by and reading today. Have a great week.

1966 Chevy Pickup and The Start of the Restoring Process

Hello Everyone,

In my last post, I said I was getting a 1961 truck off of my dad. Well, it is actually a 1966 Chevy pickup. Last Friday, we managed to get the truck to our yard. I could tell my dad really didn't want to give the truck up. But, I assured him that the truck will done up right and taken good care of.

On Wednesday of this week, me and my family got outside and washed the truck. Would you believe that it took the five of  us to get it washed and it took us almost a hour to get it cleaned, just on the outside? In this post I am going to share some pictures we took today of some of the things we have done so far. I hope y'all this as much as I have working on it.

This is before we washed the truck!
This after we got the truck home.

This is a picture after we washed the truck.

Now, are you ready for the work being done on this beauty?

This is my husband starting the sanding. He is using a 40 grid sandpaper.

This where after the first layer of paint was sanded off.

The rust spots that we are going to use auto bondo on.

My hubby mixing and adding the bondo to the truck.(I will have pictures on the next blog of the bondoing on the truck.)

Besides the sanding and getting ready to use the bondo on the rust spots. I have took some cleaner and cleaned the inside of the truck. The inside is like the outside it has a long way to go. But I will get this truck done, no matter how long it takes me. Who knows I might get crochet mommy to make me some seat covers for my seats, we will see. Like me crochet mommy is in school, so will have to see later down the road.

I enjoyed working on this truck with my husband. I see many more hours of me and him time on this truck. (I can't wait.) My husband is trying to get me to paint this truck black when we are done repairing it, but I don't want black. I really haven't chose a color yet. I have to have one picked soon.

Hope you enjoyed this post. Sorry it so long. But wanted to share what we have done so far.
Thank you for stopping by and reading.

New Year and A New Project!!!

Hello Everyone,

Its a new year! Sorry for the last post, a lot has been going on. First, I want to say Happy New Year!! I hope your new year has started out the way you hoped. As far as me, I have a lot going on. I have started my final semester in my Accounting major. Yay! I will be graduating in May.

Not only am I starting my last semester, I have also had something pretty much fall in my lap. My daddy decided he was letting go of his 1961 Chevy pickup truck. And yes I am the one getting it. I am so excited!! However, it needs a lot of work done to it. My hubby suggested that what I should do is blog as I get this truck done up right. So, that's what I am going to do. So, for this post all I have is what the truck looks like now. As money is tight, this redoing of the truck is going to take me a long time to do. But it is time and money I am willing to put into this truck. Don't let the pictures fool ya, the truck runs great!

If you have any suggestions on how to fix anything on this truck that will save me money and time, I am all ears!

This is what the truck looks like now:

My dad showing it runs!
(The smoke is cause it needs a new carburetor.)

This is the original dashboard and streeling wheel!
(Please over look the stuff in passanger seat.
My dad had some stuff stored in it.)

Yes, she needs work but she is mine!! Hope you enjoyed!
